Our Story

"As a fully qualified teacher with over 10 years experience teaching in primary schools and early years settings I am passionate about the importance of early reading in child development. At the beginning of 2021 I welcomed my second child into the world. During lockdown I spent lots of time at home thinking of new ways to keep my children entertained. My 2 year old daughter has always loved stories so I began creating activities linked to her favourite books. I discovered that by immersing my daughter in a full sensory experience she was able to access each story in a new and exciting way. This really supported her developing communication skills as well as promoting curiosity and creativity. It surprised me just how quickly my newborn began to show an interest in the stories too. He was also able to access the activities just in a different way. I liked witnessing my children's enjoyment so much that I wanted to share my experiences with others. I began to think of ways that I could provide a creative storytelling experience where parents and children could enjoy the same quality time that I had with my own children. From this Sensory Stories was born!"
